Hi, my name is Mario, and I’m based in Klagenfurt, Austria. This is my private blog where I try to publish ideas and announce things that I think could be of interest to the online community. I’m not posting a lot here, and probably holding back the most interesting things for stupid reasons.
I was always fascinated by technology and science, and always tried to understand and build things myself. I started using computers with DOS and Windows 3.0, started making websites with Frontpage 97 when the internet was still in its infancy (and so was I), and soon after started to teach myself programming by creating computer games. I later got into building web applications, started to implement apps when the first public version of Android was released, became interested in audio/video recording and production, and specialized in distributed multimedia systems during my computer science studies at university.
I love movies, music, electronics, computer science, physics, cosmology, philosophy, tinkering, palm trees, sunshine, beaches, peace and freedom. I believe that everybody should be free to do whatever he pleases, as long as he does not harm others.
Professionally, I’m a computer scientist and have been working as a web developer for quite a long time, before turning into research. I’m a perfectionist (not always to my advantage) with the urge to improve everything I touch and can become an expert on every topic that I am genuinely interested in. I like being creative and developing new and unconventional ideas, and am a huge fan of appealing design, user interfaces and great user experiences.
